Not everything needs to be an essay. Notes are for single ideas worth writing down.
IdeasA note is one idea, a few paragraphs at most. If it grows, it becomes an article; if it stays small, that’s fine too.
Writing things down in public — even briefly — forces the idea to be clear enough to survive without me standing next to it.
